Why it is vital you connect with the right people on LinkedIn?

The answer is simple: because not all LinkedIn connections are created equal!

It's really important that you build a network of useful "clean" connections on LinkedIn. By "clean" I mean people who are active, have a complete profile, and are in some way relevant to what you do.

The LinkedIn algorithm goes the extra mile to connect you to more people similar to who you are already connected with (personalised recommendations). You don't want to be connected with a bunch of "not relevant" accounts, as this can actually hurt your chances of being found in searches. Also think of the time wasted on people who will ask you for information but never buy.

It is therefore important that you review and clean your connections as a first step.

You can actually download your LinkedIn data on an Excel sheet! This is super useful. You'll be able to batch review 10-20 profiles per day and work through them as you go!

LinkedIn is a goldmine of industry experts. You can connect with them to learn new things, get advice, and stay up-to-date on trends in your industry.

In order to make the most of your LinkedIn connections, it is important to be strategic about who you connect with. You want to connect with people who are relevant to your business and who can help you achieve your goals. Here are some tips for connecting with the right people on LinkedIn:

  • Connect with people who can help you advance your career/grow your business.
  • Connect with people who work at companies that you want to do business with.
